Hello everyone, today’s featured title is “Yakuza Rogue EX: Hikari Ayukawa”.
It’s a role-playing adult game developed by the doujin circle “WAKUWAKU”, and it’s available on DLsite for 3,300 yen. The game supports Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, and Korean.
The dev team has also worked on popular titles like “Self-Defense Dojo” and “Traditional Erotic Massage”. If you enjoyed their previous works, or you’re just into the “female cop in a corrupt town” kind of setup, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Full mouse support, though keyboard controls feel more comfortable
A sandbox-style open map experience
High freedom with plenty of exploration elements
H-scenes are mostly mini-character animation style
Multiple NPC side quests and branching interactions
A wild side route full of lust and passion
2. Story Background
The protagonist is Akira Ayukawa, a rookie female police officer who has just joined the force. She’s attractive, with a well-endowed figure and a striking appearance.
She gets assigned to the “Kuraku Town Police Station,” a tiny outpost in a remote area staffed by only four officers. Even so, she doesn’t get discouraged—she’s determined to take her duties as a cop seriously and do her job properly.
Every rookie’s first day pretty much goes like this.
That said, “police work” here mostly just means routine patrols and paperwork. While she’s getting used to the job, her senior officer Fujimoto—who joined a year earlier—brings some bad news.
Recently, various local gang members and suspicious individuals the police have never seen before have started showing up frequently in their jurisdiction. And due to a severe manpower shortage, patrol duties that should be done in groups now have to be handled solo… by the rookie female officer.
If you’re underleveled, things can get seriously out of hand
Pickpockets, yakuza, drifters, prostitutes, horny troublemakers, housewives, wanted criminals—this town is a chaotic mix of violence, desire, and corruption.
Rookie cop Akira Ayukawa… reporting for duty!
3. Game Objective
The goal is to maintain your performance record while keeping public order in check, all while interacting with locals and coworkers to uncover what’s really going on in this small town.
understand the troubles of the local residents
As a sandbox-style RPG, the game gives you 30 in-game days to freely explore, talk, and fight around town. There are no hard restrictions or forced events, and with a full 24-hour activity system, you’re free to play at your own pace.
Different times of day can trigger different encounters or characters, so experimenting and following your curiosity is highly encouraged. Basically, you build your own story through your choices and timing.
A wide variety of NPCs scattered around town
4. Gameplay Loop
As mentioned, the game uses a day-and-time system, split between day and night. Every action you take consumes anywhere from several minutes to several hours, so time management is key.
There’s a lot you can do on a daily basis. Besides routine patrols and public safety awareness tasks, you’ll often respond to incident reports and crack down on crimes on-site.
Of course, the criminals in this town aren’t pushovers. If they get the chance, they’ll take full advantage of the young rookie officer and put her through some very “harsh lessons.” So building up your physical strength is definitely important.
A lawless town where public order is completely in the gutter
When you’re off duty, you can also make money and unwind by fishing or logging. If you’re nosy enough, you might even stumble into special events like student prostitution rings or housewives being harassed by perverts.
You may also find yourself facing off against dangerous wanted criminals—and if you manage to arrest them, you’ll earn praise from your superiors along with solid rewards.
Defeat powerful enemies and claim your rewards
So the big question is: after 30 days, what kind of police officer will Akira Ayukawa become?
5. UI & Core Gameplay Overview
The gameplay in this title can be broken down into a few main pillars: map exploration, policing/combat/chase sequences, and erotic scenes. I’ll go through each one briefly below.
Map Exploration

First up is exploration. While there’s a world map used for traveling between zones, most of your time will actually be spent in the “Central Park” area. Controls are very straightforward—just use left-click to move and interact.
In the top-left corner of the UI you’ll see the current time, date, evaluation score, and public order level. Across the top center, from left to right, are HP, stamina, willpower, and money.
Time: One of the most important systems in the game. Every key NPC appears at specific times and locations, and time naturally advances with every action you take.
Date: Less important overall, but you’re ultimately working within a 30-day limit, so keep an eye on it.
Evaluation Score: Your job performance rating. The tutorial warns that dropping too low can get you fired, but in normal play it’s not something you constantly need to stress over. It goes up by solving crimes, and low values can trigger special events.
Public Order: Basically the town’s overall safety level. Similar to evaluation score—too low and it can lead to dismissal, plus it also unlocks special events at low levels. Honestly, it’s not clear why these are split into two separate stats.
HP: Standard combat health. If it hits zero, you lose the fight.
Stamina: One of the most important resources in the game. Almost every action consumes stamina. In practice, if you have stamina, you can basically stay active 24/7 like a workaholic cop. It recovers through sleep and items.
Feels like the author had one too many drinks while writing this
Willpower: Drops when you lose fights. If it hits zero, it’s game over. You recover it through counseling.
Money: Used for buying items and training. More on farming methods later.
The bottom row contains general system functions, so I won’t go into detail there. You can also press Tab on the map to toggle between walking and running.
Policing / Combat / Chase System

When it comes to policing, it’s actually pretty simple. If you see someone who looks like they’re doing something illegal—they probably are. No need to overthink it.
Clicking on them brings up four options:
Warning
Fine
Arrest
Retreat
You just choose the appropriate response based on the type of crime. The in-game police manual includes a reference chart, and there’s also a simple guide included in the game folder from the devs.
The police handbook explains everything clearly
Combat System
Combat uses a real-time charge/ATB-style system split into offense and defense.
Offense: Pretty straightforward. You spend energy (ki) to use skills and deal damage. Each skill has its own cooldown, and your energy cap is tied to your stamina cap.

Defense: This works more like a rhythm game. When a shrinking circle reaches the right size, you press left-click or spacebar. Timing results in BAD / GOOD / EXCELLENT.
Any BAD = you take damage
GOOD and EXCELLENT both succeed, but EXCELLENT also restores a bit of energy

If the protagonist gets hit, there’s a chance she enters a “rear restraint” state, where HP gradually drains over time. If it reaches zero, you lose. You can mash left or right click to struggle or comply.

If you lose to a generic enemy, there’s an additional follow-up phase (basically a “safety net” for players aiming for a pure run). The mechanics are the same—mash left/right to resist or give in.
If you successfully escape, you enter a chase sequence: spam left/right to sprint, then use different skills depending on obstacles ahead. If you reach the end without getting caught, you successfully escape.
Chase segments are better played on keyboard—it’s way more efficient
Erotic Scenes
Most erotic scenes in this game are essentially automated animated sequences, so there’s not much direct interaction.
However, the protagonist has two key stats: “lust value” and “lust level.” Once lust value reaches a threshold, her lust level increases, unlocking additional actions and events.
At certain points, the protagonist can choose to, uh… masturbate near crime scenes. This is actually one of the main ways to raise lust value. Reaching orgasm during this process increases it further.
As long as you’ve got the guts to push through…
The mechanic itself is simple:
Choose intensity: Weak / Medium / Strong
The criminal also has a “alertness meter”
If it fills up, they notice what she’s doing
So the goal is to reach climax quickly without getting caught. Later on, you can even directly seduce targets instead.

Aside from watching animations, it’s mainly about raising lust values
The only “tip” here is to watch the background for pink heart effects—when they appear, climax becomes easier.
6. Gameplay Guide
Now we get to the most important section of this article.
As mentioned earlier, the game has a pretty high level of freedom, with tons of NPCs, events, and items to discover. However, the game itself gives very little guidance, so it’s easy to miss key content or useful gear.
I’ll share some of my own gameplay notes below.
NPC Locations & Spawn Times
This is arguably the most important information in the entire game—but it’s barely explained in-game.
This actually led to a lot of player complaints, so the devs later posted NPC spawn locations and event conditions on their CI-EN page.
If you don’t mind spoilers or don’t want to wander around blindly, I strongly recommend grabbing the official guide from the devs’ site. It’ll make your life way easier.

Physical Stats & Training
Besides HP, stamina, and lust, the protagonist also has three physical attributes used in combat and mini-games:
Arm Strength
Leg Strength
Core Strength
These are trained at the dojo through different mini-games.
Arm Strength: Mostly used for combat. The training mini-game is arm wrestling. Important detail: EXP gained depends on how long you can keep the match going, not just whether you win. Longer duration = more EXP.
Leg Strength: Used for combat and chase sequences. The training mini-game is literally a chase game.
Core Strength: Used for combat and woodcutting. The mini-game is wood chopping. No special tricks here, but certain items can speed it up later.

Money-Making Methods
This is what most players care about.
As of the current version, there are four main ways to earn money:
Crime enforcement / arrests
Woodcutting
Fishing
Teaching
There are also some prostitution-related methods, but they’re complicated and not very profitable, so I’ll skip those.
Crime Enforcement:
You earn money after every arrest or fight. Choosing “fine” can sometimes give extra cash. After reporting back at the police station, you also receive small bonuses and evaluation rewards. It’s not much, but it’s necessary early on.
Woodcutting:
Probably the most stable income source right now.
You can take woodcutting jobs from NPC Reiko Echizen in Thunder River. Rewards depend on the type and amount of wood you cut, plus a bit of EXP.
After defeating the wanted criminal Takeshi Akamatsu, you obtain the special item Golden Axe, which guarantees maximum damage per chop. This effectively removes the need for timing or button mashing—you can just spam left-click.
The Golden Axe also works in dojo training. However, the hardest wood requires at least Core Strength 17+ to break in one hit.

If you meet the requirements, woodcutting can earn around 65,000–70,000 yen per run.
Fishing:
Fishing can also be profitable, but it has a lot of prerequisites.
First, complete NPC Shizue Kubota’s questline to gain access to her home. Then sell fish to NPC Rei, which doubles their value.
Next, increase NPC Kouta Morikawa’s affection to obtain the high-end rod “Sea God Rod.”
After that, go to upstream Thunder River at night and catch the rare fish “Red-Eye Golden Dragon.” Each one sells for around 20,000–30,000 yen.
It’s more complicated than woodcutting, but since it ties into Rei’s questline, it’s still worth doing.
Big fish go for around 20,000–30,000 yen each
Teaching:
Another heavily gated method.
Once you max out any training stat at the dojo, the master Rika Ijuin will give you a temporary instructor certificate.
With it, you can teach at the dojo by spending combat experience and stamina in exchange for money. Maximum payout is around 75,000 yen per session.
About Red-Eye Golden Dragon
Here are a few extra tips for catching the Red-Eye Golden Dragon:
1. First, you’ll need to raise your affinity with Kota Morikawa and obtain the highest-tier fishing rod, the Sea God Rod. Without it, you won’t be able to catch the Red-Eye Golden Dragon.
2. The Red-Eye Golden Dragon only appears at the Thunder River Upper Stream fishing spot during the nighttime.
3. Once you enter the fishing minigame, check whether the fish shadow shown below is present. If it isn’t, exit and re-enter until it appears.
4. Most Red-Eye Golden Dragons move very quickly, but their left-and-right swimming pattern is predictable. Instead of casting directly at the fish, try placing your lure along its return path and let it swim into the hook.

One more thing: the current Chinese localization contains a translation error. The Upper Stream and Lower Stream labels are accidentally swapped. In other words, the correct fishing spot is actually the one next to the woodcutting area, regardless of what the map label says.
Items Overview
Items are divided into four categories:
Consumables
Gifts
Equipment
Special devices
Consumables: Restore HP or stamina. Just buy as needed.
Gifts: Used to raise NPC affinity.
Equipment: Boost attack or reduce damage, but generally not essential since quest rewards are stronger.
Special Devices: Increase max HP or stamina, plus fishing gear.
My personal recommendation: prioritize anything that increases max stamina, since stamina is extremely important in this game. The microwave is also a good early purchase because it improves healing item efficiency.
Max HP upgrades are optional depending on your build—I personally didn’t bother since combat isn’t too hard.
Fishing gear? Honestly, don’t buy it. Waste of money.
Gift System
As mentioned earlier, you can buy gifts from shops and give them to NPCs to increase their affection levels. Raising affection unlocks different benefits, events, and in some cases, allows NPCs to assist you in combat.
A very “welcome to the internet” type of housewife NTR event
Aside from the special item “Rainbow Mushroom,” gifts are basically tied to specific characters. Here’s a quick breakdown:
Mika Seto: Various types of alcohol
Yumiko: Kitchenware / recipe books
Kota Morikawa: Adult magazines
Seiya Fujiki: Adult games (?)
Ryoko Tanaka: Cosmetics
Shigeru Kumaki: Golf equipment
That’s it for the current version. The acquisition method for the special item Rainbow Mushroom will be covered later.
Outdoor Urination System
Honestly, this is one of those mechanics that feels kind of… unnecessary, but since it exists, we’ll cover it.
Once the protagonist reaches a certain lust level, she unlocks the ability to urinate outdoors. Each small map area supposedly has at least one valid spot, but there’s no real hint system—you just walk around and spam the “use restroom” button.
If you’re in the right location, an icon will appear, and clicking it triggers a urination animation.

Urination itself restores stamina and increases lust. But the real point is the previously mentioned special item—the “Rainbow Mushroom.”
After you’ve urinated in a location, and enough in-game time passes, a Rainbow Mushroom will grow there. You can then harvest it and use it as a gift item.
Unlike most gifts, Rainbow Mushrooms can be given to almost anyone—except dojo master Rika Ijuin.
Treasure Chests & Rika Ijuin
The dojo master, Rika Ijuin, is a special case.
As mentioned above, Rainbow Mushrooms can’t be given to her. Instead, her affection items are obtained randomly from map treasure chests.
There are six chest locations:
Thunder River
Soccer Field
East Rest Area
Dense Forest 1
Dense Forest 2 (two chests total)
These chests respawn over time, so you can keep opening them. The rewards are actually pretty decent, so it’s worth checking them whenever you pass by.
They call it a treasure chest, but in practice it’s basically a trash bin
Rika herself is also a very powerful ally. Once her affection reaches 70+, she can join you in combat. At 100 affection, she grants the skill “Secret Art: Clear Mind State”, a strong recovery ability.
Because of this, boosting her affection early can make a huge difference in progression.
If you’re specifically trying to farm her affection items, there are two main strategies:
Save/load (SL) farming at the Thunder River chest, which can drop both her affection items and high-value fish like the Red-Eye Golden Dragon.
Progress NPC Rei’s questline. Once her affection reaches 60+, you can open a daily chest at her house, which has a higher chance of rare drops.
Shizue Kubota’s Cat Quest
To start Rei’s questline, you first need to complete Shizue Kubota’s quest.
This is, honestly, the one quest that completely stumped me during playthrough.
Her request is simple: find her missing cat. The problem is… there are cats everywhere in the park, and even though the game tells you it’s a calico cat, there’s basically no way to visually distinguish it on the map.
And even when you find it, you don’t just pick it up—you enter a chase minigame. The cat is even faster than most criminals, which makes it extremely annoying.
Anyway, the most important info here is this:
The quest cat is located on the roof above the restroom in the West Rest Area of Central Park.
Hopefully that saves you a lot of wasted time.
That cat on the left is actually the real target/strong>
Chase Minigame Tips
A quick note on the chase system.
As mentioned before, you sprint by spamming left/right clicks and use skills to overcome obstacles. However, the game’s design makes one thing very clear:
Don’t burn all your stamina just to move faster.
Later stages have dense obstacle patterns, and if you don’t save stamina for skills, you’ll basically fail every time.
My personal approach was:
Boost speed immediately at the start
Stabilize at around 13–14 km/h
Focus on skill usage for obstacles
This setup handles most chase scenarios reliably.
If you really don’t want to deal with it, there are also special items that can auto-clear chase encounters (more on that later).
Key Items Overview
Here’s a quick summary of the most important progression items:
1. Golden Axe
Obtained after defeating the wanted criminal Takeshi Akamatsu. Guarantees maximum damage for woodcutting.
2. Sea God Rod
Earned by increasing affection with Kota Morikawa. The highest-tier fishing rod, required for catching the Red-Eye Golden Dragon (also important for NPC Rei’s questline).
3. Space-Time Ring
Obtained via affection with Seiya Fujiki. A special item that can instantly clear chase encounters.
If you’re ever unsure what to prioritize, grabbing these three early will make the entire game significantly smoother.
Endings (7 Total)
The ending is decided by your stats at the end of the 30-day internship (7 in total)

Exceptional Detective
HiredAll three wanted criminals caught and commended; performance meets the appointment bar, with no body trades throughout. The cleanest hire route — the chief reports her to HQ as “exceptional.”
At the end of her thirty-day internship, Hikaru Ayukawa shocked the entire Ashiya Police Station with an almost "insane" number of cases handled and arrests made.
She patrolled, tailed suspects, set up operations, and conducted raids almost without sleeping. Theft, fights, fraud, and even several long-wanted repeat offenders in her jurisdiction were all brought in by her iron will and sharp insight.
In his final evaluation report, Chief Takakura wrote: "The number of cases handled is astonishing, arrest efficiency is extremely high, and her sense of justice is strong. She acts decisively and fearlessly. During her internship, she has already demonstrated police ability and professional ethics far beyond a rookie."

Excellent Hire
HiredThe only thing that matters is breaking 200 performance — catching the three wanted criminals is NOT required. Even if body trades occurred, hitting 200+ overrides the stain and earns an “Excellent” appointment.
At the end of her thirty-day internship, Hikaru Ayukawa stood out through an astonishing number of cases handled and highly efficient performance.
Every day, she rushed through the streets and alleys of her jurisdiction, arresting criminals and handling sudden incidents… almost never taking a day off.
In his final evaluation report, Chief Takakura wrote: "She handles cases proactively, reacts quickly, has strong public support, and possesses an exceptional sense of responsibility and execution. A rare practical talent among rookies."
Her application for regular appointment passed quickly with an "Excellent" rating, and a handwritten recommendation from the chief was sent straight to the Metropolitan Police Department's personnel division.

Hired via Body Trade
HiredEngaging in any body trade with performance over 150 leads here — catching the three wanted criminals is NOT required. Performance never breaks 200, so it can’t be washed clean into the Excellent route and stops here.
When the thirty-day internship ended, Hikaru Ayukawa had not only completed all visible police duties perfectly, but had also shown another astonishing "ability" in private.
She cleverly turned the advantages of her female body into workplace resources: at key moments, she used gentle companionship, comfort, and even more intimate "assistance" to gain exceptional favor and care from superiors, coworkers, and even residents in the district.

Plain Hire
HiredPerformance just meets the appointment threshold with no standout showing; whether or not body trade occurred does not affect this ending. The chief signs off; a steady hire.
Over the course of thirty full days of internship, Hikaru Ayukawa proved through her actions that she is fully suited to becoming a qualified police officer.
Although her results were not especially dazzling, her punctual daily patrols, careful records, and every small act of protecting citizens were seen by both coworkers and superiors.

Angler Cop
DismissedAn evaluation score of 80 or below triggers dismissal; libido stays low, no sex-industry route. After leaving she pours herself into fishing and gains some fame.
Although she felt lost for a while after being dismissed, Hikaru Ayukawa soon picked herself back up and poured all her passion into a new hobby – fishing.
Every morning or late at night, she carried her rod, bait, and folding chair to rivers, lakes, and the sea near the city. At first it was only to ease the emptiness, but she unexpectedly discovered an astonishing talent: she could read currents and fish movements, choose the right bait, control her float, and patiently wait until even the most stubborn fish bit.

Ordinary Part-timer
DismissedAn evaluation score of 80 or below triggers dismissal, with mid/average libido (neither escort-level nor a new hobby). Drifts through restaurant and convenience-store jobs.
The former police rookie is now an ordinary worker in society.
She moves between chain restaurants, convenience stores, and small factories, working as a server, cashier, and stock handler… every day wearing cheap uniforms and repeating mechanical tasks like taking orders, handling registers, mopping floors, and unloading goods.
Her wages barely cover rent and living expenses. Sometimes, after overtime runs late into the night, she comes home and collapses into bed.

Fallen BAD (Escort)
DismissedAn evaluation score of 80 or below triggers dismissal, with extremely high libido. After breaking down she enters the sex industry and ends up a street escort. The worst ending.
The sense of justice and passion she once had completely collapsed the moment she was dismissed, replaced by uncontrollable physical craving.
She began drifting through the sex industry: first as a hostess at nightclubs, wearing revealing dresses, drinking, chatting, flirting with customers, and earning tips.
Later, she entered a soapland bathhouse, using her body to provide customers with "full-service" care, touched and toyed with by strangers again and again in the bathroom.

Willpower Zero — Game Over
Not an EndingIf willpower ever hits zero, Hikaru writes a “letter of resignation” and the game ends immediately. This is a Game Over, not counted among the 7 endings.
7. Final Thoughts
Although I mentioned earlier that the dev team has worked on titles like “Self-Defense Dojo” and “Traditional Erotic Massage” I actually hadn’t played their previous games before this one. So this was my first experience with their work—and honestly, it exceeded my expectations.
CG quality is pretty solid overall
At its core, this is a fairly grindy sandbox RPG, especially early on when your stats are still low. Combat and training can take time, but the design does a good job of linking systems together. You’re constantly doing A to unlock B, which leads to C, and so on. That loop keeps things engaging and reduces the feeling of pure repetition.
The H-scenes are mostly mini-character animated sequences. They’re visually solid, but the dialogue feels a bit flat—though that might be a translation issue. Also, at the time of writing, there’s no gallery or replay system, so if you want to revisit scenes, you’ll need to rely on saved files. Some NPC events are also missable.
Most of the content is presented through mini animations

The gallery/replay function was not implemented at the time of this playthrough
There are still some rough edges—like movement speed feeling a bit slow, and certain scenes not being skippable—but overall, it was a pretty enjoyable experience. I also didn’t run into many bugs, and the devs seem to be actively posting optimization updates.
If you’re into sandbox exploration RPGs with high freedom and progression-heavy systems, this one is definitely worth checking out.
