That afternoon, a friend from the publisher Shiravune asked me
whether I could write a review for this game
Given my prior experience with these kinds of titles
I said yes without thinking twice
After all, an adult game runs maybe 5 hours, right?
And yet, that one decision
dropped me straight into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber
Forty hours just vanished
You read that right — 40 hours
But what kind of adult game ends up feeling like a AAA blockbuster?
The Setup
The Dragon and the Sword opens in a small town
One ordinary, happy family is suddenly hit by disaster
The legendary monster — the Dragon
appears out of nowhere and levels the heroine’s home
Her parents are killed on the spot
For revenge, the heroine walks into the adventurer’s guild and tries to file a quest
But her quest gets dismissed as a prank
The heroine, set on revenge, of course isn’t going to give up
Through a chain of coincidences, she decides to become an adventurer herself
And sets out on the journey to find the Dragon and take her revenge
Heroine & Party Introduction
Clea
From victim to adventurer
Through quests big and small
She gradually grows into someone who can stand on her own
The party’s tank and physical DPS
Her ultimate skill animations are the showpiece of the cast
Nora
The heroine’s first companion
A cat-eared beastfolk
Former member of a thieves’ guild
Her party role is mainly “lockpicking”
Her trait is raw speed
Relm
The second party member
A prodigy of magic books
Her gift was so dangerous it crossed a taboo line
And the magic academy sealed her talent
Her party job is mainly “breaking magic seals”
Paired with elemental magic offense and defense
Sophia
The last party member
A monk whose favorite pastime is drinking
(basically a sake-and-meat monk??)
She carries a past she doesn’t talk about
In the party she “prays at goddess statues”
She’s the healer
Playing Through It
This game doesn’t hide much
The main path is just: pick up quests and follow them
The devs are nice about it too
If you don’t know where to go
You can open a panel and fast-travel straight to the next objective
The only real grind is… leveling up… I guess
Early game, to push the main path
I genuinely played it by hand to soak in the experience
But the late-game power curve gets brutal
Hitting a wall on the critical path made me go !@%@#^^&@$%
So I caved and broke out my trainer…
And the game went back to being fun
As a casual player I just want to enjoy the story (and occasionally, the H content)
Why I Call It the Time Chamber
Even with my stats trivialized and the brakes off
The total quest count hit 202!!!!!
You read that right
Beyond the adventurer’s guild, every other town also dispatches its own quests
I’ve never seen any other adult game
hand out that many quests
But to actually feel the full game
I cleared all 200-something
And unlocked the true ending (the plot splits into two final branches)
Skip the key quests and you can still beat the game
Just not True End
And one more thing!!!!!!
The game is called The Dragon and the Sword
So logically once you kill the Dragon it should wrap up
But no
Let me say again, the reason this title plays like a real game
Is that the devs actually finished out the entire story and worldbuilding
When the mid-game Dragon-slaying arc ended
My reaction was literally “wait — there’s MORE?!”
And a neat touch: during major battles
If you’ve cleared the side quests
You can “rally” allies into the fight
Which cuts down on combat encounters and hands you some extra skills
It feels a bit like
“We’ve got this, you go on ahead”
Honestly kind of hot-blooded, isn’t it?
Playing it took me back to that
DOS game I played in second grade, Moshenzhanji 2
Minus the overworld map walking
This game’s quests are mostly about dungeons and caves
Anyone who’s touched RPG MAKER knows
Every fully designed map is a one-way ticket to liver damage
The Adult Side
Friendly heads-up: if you got nothing in this section, go download the patch…
The H content isn’t just fanservice — it’s mechanically useful too
As you level up the adult skills
Your character stats actually shift in response
Turns out sex is the real engine of growth (?)
There are special items at a mystery shop but stock is limited
There are a LOT of H scenes too
Combat hints at Hardcore defeat scenes you can unlock
You can technically wipe-and-retry with tab
But heads up — at least one of those scenes
Is a one-shot deal: wipe there and you’re reloading the last save
Watch yourself
There’s also a recollection room so you can replay scenes you’ve seen
The CG differential count is huge and the art quality is top-tier
When the boss-bullying gets too rough, a recollection break lifts your mood right back up…

The last two quests never give you a fast-travel marker
