Room 404: Erotic Massage is a chibi styled 3D massage parlour sim where you play a gentleman masseur, and the job description is working a client over from the outside in until every last bit of tension is gone. First customer through the door is Sana, and from there it is Koharu and Rion. I cleared all three, so here is everything I wish I had known on level 1
The short version: each girl has her own level, items only work on the girl whose level is high enough, and the game front loads the grind before it opens up. How it plays, and how it feels to play
This is first person, which is more of a deal than it sounds. Most games in this corner stick you in a fixed camera with looping animations, but here you walk around on WASD, raise and lower yourself with SHIFT and CTRL, and use the mouse to rotate the view and pull in or out. Getting a good angle is half the fun and you can genuinely just circle the table to find one
The 3D models do come with a hardware bill. If you want high resolution and a high framerate you will need something reasonable in the box, but on normal settings it runs fine
Mood works as a track. She starts tense, then moves to aroused, then the lust actually wakes up, and the whole appeal of the game is watching that progression happen because of what you did. Massage targets follow the same curve, starting on perfectly respectable body parts and drifting somewhere much less respectable. By the end calling it a massage parlour is being generous
Nice touch worth mentioning: the paper underwear. It starts dry and soaks through as the session goes on
One thing to set expectations on. You are a professional gentleman masseur, so there is no player side release in this game at all. No inside, no outside, none of that. The girls are here to relax and your job is making them feel good. Everything else is not your business
New player tips that actually change your run
Pour everything into one girl first
My first instinct was to push a single character straight to level 20, and that turned out to be right for the wrong reason. Items are locked per character, so a toy you unlocked on one girl does nothing for another girl until her own level catches up. Focusing one girl to 20 lets you buy the shopping list once, finish her story, and unlock the time stop so you can mess around with no clock running
Buy the qigong master’s guide (3,000 G) before anything else
Everything before level 5 is manual, and I mean mouse destroying manual. The qigong master’s guide is what ends that, and it also lets you set the massage speed. Faster speed means sensitivity climbs faster, and there is no secret optimal setting hiding in the middle, so shove the slider to max and stop thinking about it
Money is tight early on and then stops mattering
Early sessions pay out around 1,000. Once sensitivity is up and the climaxes start stacking, a single massage lands somewhere around 50,000 to 60,000 G. The full body erogenous oil at 50,000 G is basically the graduation present, and after you own it money stops being a system you think about
Push through the early levels
Level 9 unlocks the clitoris and that is where you see the first climax, so the first stretch is the slowest part of the game. It is still plenty hot enough to keep you going. Every level up also asks for extra session time, which buys you more room to work
Level 14 opens up two person play
Hiring an assistant at LV14 brings its own set of scenes, and the later levels keep drip feeding new assistant positions on top of that
