The Lewd Apartment Manager
II. Background Story
The protagonist, Yuto Fujimoto, is a fresh grad who’s basically “unemployed on arrival.” Not only is his job hunt a total train wreck, but he’s also got a major pain-in-the-ass landlord constantly breathing down his neck for rent.
Our stone-faced protagonist.
Luckily, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. An acceptance letter from a famous social media company arrives just in time to save your skin. Not only that, but your new position gives you a backstage pass to the “dirty little secrets” of three absolute hotties in your life.
And just like that, your spicy, high-stakes side hustle begins.
Make the most of those “un-hideable” little secrets.
III. Game Objectives
The game doesn’t hit you with any hard deadlines or a specific “true ending” to stress over. While each of the three main heroines has an unlockable after-story once you complete their route, there are also plenty of H-scenes featuring side characters to collect. Unlocking them is a breeze, and the requirements are clearly marked in the system. You’re free to pursue whoever you want and grind out those CGs at your own pace.
One of the three main heroines—the holy and pure Sister.
Side character event triggers are also clearly displayed on the screen.
Tips:Each character's event threshold is explicitly marked in-game, so make sure to keep an eye on those.
IV. Gameplay Loop
The game runs on a calendar and Action Point (AP) system. Most activities—like working your shift, H-scenes, or triggering events—will burn through your AP. Once you’re tapped out, the game moves to the next time slot. Some specific events only pop up during certain windows, but from what I’ve played, there’s really no need to sweat the timeline. The game doesn’t put much pressure on you, so just kick back and enjoy the ride.
Some H-scenes can only be triggered during specific time slots.
V. UI & Core Gameplay Mechanics
Let’s break down the basic UI and what all those stats actually mean.
Basic Game Interface
The top bar, from left to right, shows your “Current Time,” “AP,” “Cash,” and “Mood.” Right below the Mood bar, you’ll find your quest log, tutorials, items, and other system functions. It’s all pretty streamlined—no bloated menus to deal with.
-
“Current Time”: This mainly determines which characters spawn on the map. There are four slots: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Late Night.
-
“AP” (Action Points): Working shifts, H-scenes, and certain actions will drain your AP. Once you’re out, the clock moves to the next time slot.
-
“Cash”: Used for paying your rent and buying items.
-
“Mood”: This stat drops when you’re grinding at work but can be recharged by having sex or grabbing a bite to eat.
From my playthrough, most of these mechanics are pretty standard fare for the genre. Aside from the Mood stat feeling a bit “meh” (it doesn’t seem to impact much), the restrictions aren’t harsh at all. You should be able to pick everything up in no time.
Aside from grabbing food, getting some action is another way to refill your Mood meter.
Next up is the core system that gives the game its name: the “Community Review” job. Long story short, your gig is to moderate media uploaded by the public to see if it follows the community guidelines. Not only is this your primary source of income, but it’s also the key method for digging up those “dirty little secrets” you need to progress with the main heroines.
Here’s the breakdown of the core Community Review work interface.
The devs were actually pretty chill and gave us a full four-day tutorial period at the start to get a feel for the system. That said, the rules are straightforward—there are only four you need to worry about:
-
“Adult content is a hard NO—yeet those images immediately.”
-
“Accounts less than 7 days old are banned from posting images.”
-
“Any images with barcodes must be flagged and removed.”
-
“Celebrity photos must be posted by the actual person.”
So, do we let this photo slide or what?
Each shift tasks you with reviewing ten photos. Your job is to either Approve or Reject them based on the rules I mentioned. You get three strikes before you totally tank the shift. Even if you fail, you just lose out on the paycheck—it won’t trigger a Game Over, so no stress there. Once you get the hang of it, you can breeze through a shift in about a minute.
Failure just earns you a “please do better next time” email. Honestly, gotta love these devs—total “god-tier” management.
Of course, the biggest draw of the game is actually the content within the review system. Generating a mountain of original NSFW images is no small feat and eats up a ton of dev resources. So, the studio took a brilliant shortcut: they collabed with other adult games and used their CGs as the “review material.” It’s a genius move—they save on production costs while giving other titles some free marketing. A total win-win!
A straight-up flex of lewd CGs from all kinds of adult titles
I swear, half the time I’m so distracted by the art that I have to go look up which game it’s actually from.
And yeah, they’ve even got some wholesome, “safe-for-work” beautiful CGs mixed in there too.
Also, don’t worry about getting too distracted by the fanservice and missing key clues about the heroines. The game has your back—whenever a crucial lead pops up, the system auto-notifies you and saves it directly to your gallery. Super convenient.
A total bro-tier system that makes sure you never miss a lead.
Next up, let’s talk about the only two ways to actually hit a Game Over screen: Rent and Chaos Level. Rent is pretty self-explanatory—the landlord swings by every five days to collect his cut. If you’re short on cash, he’ll give you a one-day grace period, but if you still can’t pay up after that? It’s game over, man.
“Chaos Level” is a bit more of a headache. While it’s actually required to unlock certain events, letting it redline will end your run. Your Chaos cap is tied to your Job Rank—the higher your rank, the more chaos the system can handle. You rank up just by grinding your shifts and gaining XP. My pro tip: keep your Chaos low in the early game and wait until you’ve boosted your cap before you start messing with it. I’ll dive deeper into the specifics in the walkthrough section later on.
A special system that kicks in mid-game, specifically for unlocking side character events.
Tips:The main point of the Chaos Level is to trigger side stories. Honestly, I’d suggest saving those for the late game and knocking them all out at once.
Moving on to the H-scenes: As you progress with the three main heroines, you’ll unlock several scenes and positions that you can swap between. One slight bummer, though, is that the scenes are pretty much non-interactive—you’re mostly just along for the ride. As for the side characters, once you’ve pushed the main story far enough, a new system will pop up to show you their specific unlock requirements. Most side girls have 1 or 2 events, while some just offer a simple outfit swap.
When it comes to the H-scenes, it’s pretty much just picking your flavor—select the scene and the position, and that’s it. No extra clicking or interactive mechanics here.
Finally, let’s talk shopping. There are two main spots to drop your cash: the convenience store on the first floor and the poster shop on the opposite side. The convenience store stocks items that help you push through the story, along with key items needed to trigger specific events. Meanwhile, the poster shop is where you’ll find gear that gives you various buffs to make your life easier.
If you need to stock up, just head to the first floor and look for the “Onee-san” running the convenience store.
VI. Strategy & Tips
The game’s balance is pretty forgiving—you won’t find yourself stuck in a tedious grind for resources. That said, I’ve put together a few tips to help you cruise through your playthrough without breaking a sweat.
Items
The absolute #1 must-buy is the “Teleport Portal” at the convenience store. It’ll set you back 600 bucks and won’t be available right at the start, but as soon as it hits the shelves, snag it immediately. It’ll save you a ton of time backtracking across the map. It does have some usage restrictions, but trust me, it’s a total game-changer compared to walking everywhere.
Other gear, like the Running Shoes or Bento Boxes, are totally optional. They’re dirt cheap anyway, so feel free to pick them up whenever you feel like it.
A Teleport Portal for only 600 bucks? I feel like I’ve seen this design somewhere before…
Money & XP
In this game, your cash is mainly for paying rent and stocking up on items. Rent is a measly 200 bucks every five days, and since most items are one-time purchases, you won’t exactly be hurting for money. That said, you’ll still need to put in a bit of work to keep the cash flowing.
200 bucks for 5 days? That’s barely a dent in your wallet.
XP (Experience Points)are used to boost your job rank and salary, and you can only earn them through working or by using specific items.
I’ve got two pro-tips for this: First, make sure to hit up the poster shop for posters that buff your pay or XP gain—some of them go as high as +100%. Once you buy them, don’t forget to actually hang them up in your room to activate the buffs. After that, just cherry-pick the high-payout, high-XP missions, and you’ll hit your progression goals in no time.
If you’ve got the spare cash, grab those posters early. It makes the grind twice as efficient.
Another tip: once the Church area unlocks, prioritize the side quests right outside the entrance. For some reason, this quest line is incredibly generous with the rewards. Most of them only require you to talk to a few NPCs, making them quick, easy, and a great way to bank enough money to buy out almost every item in the game.
Recommended Play Order
In principle, you’re free to pursue whichever heroine catches your eye—there’s no hard-coded order. However, I’d suggest a bit of strategic restraint when it comes to the “housewife next door.” Don’t push her all the way to “corruption” right away; leave her a little breathing room.
The reason is that once you fully complete her route, the old landlord gets jealous of your relationship with his beautiful tenant and will hike your rent out of spite. It jumps from the default 200 bucks to 400 bucks every five days. While it’s still not a bank-breaker, why pay more when you can keep things cheap and easy for a bit longer?
What a petty old geezer—hiking the rent just because you’re getting too cozy with the beautiful manager.
Managing Chaos Levels
The main purpose of the Chaos Level is to unlock H-scenes for the side characters. You can shift this stat through three primary methods: Working, Shopping, and Confession. Note that the Confession option only becomes available once you’ve unlocked the Church location.
Side character H-events all have a specific Chaos Level threshold you need to hit first.
Let’s start with how to pump those numbers up. The fastest way is during your review shifts: just Approve any images containing NSFW/adult content. Each one you let slide gives you a +3 boost to Chaos.
The pro move here is to wait for a “Simple Mode” task to pop up (they appear randomly). In this mode, every decision you make is counted as correct, no matter what. If you just spam “Approve” on every lewd image that comes across your desk, you can spike your Chaos by a massive 30 points in a single go.
There’s a feature where you can watch the TV to see how the Chaos Level is impacting the world, but honestly, it’s mostly just flavor text and doesn’t matter much for gameplay.
Keep in mind that failing shifts normally means you won’t get paid, so it’s much more efficient to wait until the late game—when you’re already swimming in cash—to spam the Chaos meter up all at once.
As for the Confessional, there’s a mini-game there that can shift your Chaos by -3 to +3. However, since you have to go out of your way to visit the church and the payoff is tiny, I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time on it. Then there’s Shopping: some items have a “chance” to lower your Chaos upon purchase, meaning you’re spending money for an effect that might not even trigger. Definitely a skip.
Overall, Chaos is easy to gain but a pain to get rid of. But since most side character H-events require high Chaos anyway, as long as your Cap is high enough, feel free to crank it up without overthinking it.
Side character events are pretty limited, usually just 1 or 2 scenes, and the settings tend to be a bit repetitive.
Tips:The fastest way to skyrocket your Chaos is to just let a massive flood of lewd photos leak onto the internet all at once.
Heroine Progression
There’s one specific detail you need to watch out for here, so you don’t end up wasting your time like I did during my first run. When you’re pursuing a heroine, the game will track your progress toward the next stage. Sometimes the requirement is a certain number of H-scenes, and other times it requires you to have played through a specific scenario. You can check these requirements in the UI, but since they aren’t explicitly spelled out in text, it’s easy to misinterpret the icons. Keep a sharp eye on that.
The bottom right corner of the character profile page shows your current progression requirements.
Also, when the requirement is based on the number of H-sessions, keep an eye on the panel in the top-left corner once the scene starts. If there’s a counter displayed there, it means you need to make the heroine climax a specific number of times until the “Training Success!” notification pops up for it to actually count toward your progress. If you don’t hit that mark, you’ll end up like me—grinding for nothing.
VII. Final Thoughts
In my opinion, the biggest selling point of this game is definitely the “content” within the community review system. I have to say, the way they used CGs from other titles as assets is a brilliant move. While it’s pretty common to see devs sneak references to their own previous works into a new game, seeing them directly port in content from other creators like this is actually quite rare.
The game actually includes a full credits list of the featured titles, and the total count is a staggering 22 different works.
The real kicker is how naturally they integrated everything into their own gameplay. It never feels forced or confusing. While I was playing, I even caught myself seeing a particularly eye-catching CG and feeling an immediate urge to go find out which game it originally came from. I’d say as far as cross-promotion goes, this is an incredibly effective “ad” for those other titles.
If a particular CG catches your eye, it’s definitely worth digging around to see which game it belongs to!
I also have to give credit to the overall Quality of Life (QoL) features. The game is highly accessible—you can play the entire thing with just your mouse, skip certain mini-games, and the UI clearly marks event triggers and mission lists. However, you do run into those “if they could do this, why design it the other way in the first place?” moments. I suspect some of these user-friendly shortcuts were added in later updates, but regardless, they are very welcome changes that make the player’s life much easier.
There are some mini-games that look incredibly lewd but were so confusing I couldn’t wrap my head around them—thankfully, there’s a skip button.
As for the story, it’s a very straightforward, linear experience. The heroines’ dialogue actually updates and changes as you progress through their routes, which is a nice touch. One heads-up regarding the side character events: there is content involving Futanari/Trap characters and Cuckolding/Sharing the heroines. The system does pop up a warning before these scenes trigger, but if those are deal-breakers for you, you might want to proceed with caution.
The game provides warning prompts before triggering certain scenes, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally “stepping on a landmine.”
In summary, this is a high-quality indie title that lets you enjoy a massive gallery of CGs from various different works. While the H-scenes themselves lack variety and interactivity, the developers deserve credit for prioritizing a user-friendly experience. According to the Steam page, the team also has plans for future free DLC updates. If this unique gameplay loop piques your interest, you should definitely give “The Censor DX Edition” a shot!
